Information for full-time editors: The most important requirement of being an editor is being able to commit to a regular, weekly schedule wherein you are responsible for collecting links and posting the newsletter on a designated day. If you are willing to join the team, and accept the responsibility that comes with it, being an editor can be an enjoyable and rewarding experience. We each get to be a regular part of the fandom we love, and help others find out about fics, discussions, and artwork that they may otherwise be missing.
Currently we have a position available for a full-time editor on either Wednesdays or Saturdays (your choice!). This position will be a full-time, once-a-week posting position.
Information for back-up editors: Back-up editors are life-savers! We ask that they tract posts over at the newsletter managing community in order to stay up-to-date with scheduling changes/conflicts, and help requests. While full-time editors do try to make requests for back-ups in advance, sometimes unexpected circumstances crop up, and last minute fill-ins are needed. No one person is expected to always be available, of course. We are just endeavoring to have a decent size pool of folks who have some flexibility in their daily lives (and regular internet access!) to cover the newsletter on these occasions.
Since real life (sadly) has a tendency to interfere with fandom pursuits from time to time, we are hoping to build a large enough pool of back-up editors to help the comm keep our commitment to putting out a consistent, daily fandom newsletter. In that regard, we are still looking for one or two more back-up editors to join our ranks.
